Sustainability

At Visama Explorer Nan, sustainability is more than a promise — it is the foundation of how we design, build, and operate. As part of VHG Asia, we draw on decades of experience developing eco-lodges and tented camps across Asia. Our sister projects, including Cardamom Tented Camp in Cambodia, are proud members of The Long Run, a global community of nature-based tourism businesses recognized for their commitment to holistic sustainability.

Guided by the same 4Cs framework — Conservation, Community, Culture, and Commerce — Visama Explorer Nan ensures that every journey leaves a positive impact. From protecting the forests and wildlife of Nan Province to celebrating Thai Lue traditions and supporting village artisans, we believe travel should create shared value for both guests and hosts.

While Visama itself is not yet a member of The Long Run, our vision and practices are aligned with its principles. We invite our guests to be part of this journey: to learn, to give back, and to experience first-hand how thoughtful travel can help people and planet thrive together.

The 4Cs

Group 316

Visama Explorer Nan is committed to protecting the forests, rivers, and wildlife of Nan Province. By working with local partners and conservation experts, we safeguard the natural environment, and invite guests to learn from and give back to nature during their stay with us.

Group 317

People are at the heart of everything we do, and the strength of our local community is what makes Visama Explorer Nan truly special. We provide meaningful employment opportunities, support village enterprises, and encourage our guests to connect with those who call this region home.

Group 318

While those living in Nan are proudly Thai, they continue to honor their roots in Thai Lue heritage. From local food and handicrafts to cultural exchanges, we celebrate and preserve the stories, skills, and identity that make this area unique. Guests can experience this heritage through traditional Lue dress, music, and ways of life that continue to thrive today.

Group 319

At Visama Explorer Nan we believe that tourism should create shared value. Every decision, from sourcing and partnerships, to guest experiences, is made with a focus on long-term positive impact, while ensuring our business remains both sustainable and viable.
